Course Description
Working at heights includes any job where there is a chance of you being injured by falling from one level to another, like falling off a roof. Any person who is working at heights needs training, clear work instructions and must use fall prevention and safety equipment.
This unit is appropriate for those working in operational roles where they are required to perform work at heights. The course examines the skills and knowledge required to work safety at heights in the Resources and Infrastructure Industries.
National Accreditation
This is a Nationally Accredited course. Accreditation means that the course has been assessed by a VET regulator and is compliant with the Standards for VET accredited courses. This course has been assessed by ASQA as compliant with the Standards for VET Accredited Courses 2012 and the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
Course Outcomes
During this course you will learn about:
Planning out the work. Choosing and installing safety equipment. Working at heights safely. Cleaning up the work area after you have finished. Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will receive a Statement of Attainment.
Course Assessment
Competency is obtained through both theory and practical assessments. The practical assessment requires you to demonstrate the skills required to be deemed competent. The theory assessment will be undertaken in a written form. If you feel you will be disadvantaged by undertaking a written assessment, please discuss with your trainer/assessor prior to the beginning of the time for the theory assessment.
Admission and Attendance
All attendees MUST have a USI (Unique Student Identifier). We are unable to issue a credential unless a valid USI has been provided.
